Sponsors Visit the Charity Projects

A group of Swedish donors recently visited the charity projects that Mountain Delights Treks and Expedition is running currently in different parts of Nepal. To inform you, we are not only a trekking and expedition company but also an active philanthropic worker through our charitable organization called Tukee Nepal. With the vision of giving back to the local community as a responsible tour operator, we have run several community projects to benefit the locals. We have always kept the local community development as our top priority.

The team of our sponsors paid a visit to some of our project sites in Dhading and Sindhupalchok districts which were the worst hit districts by the devastating earthquakes in 2015. They were here to inspect the projects that we started after the earthquake with the help of kind donations they generated for us. The team inspected a micro hydro power project that our organization is constructing in Jyamrung village of Dhading district. Similarly, they also visited school and hospital construction sites in the same village. These projects will benefit the people of Jyamrung and surrounding villages after their completion.

In addition to the projects in Dhading, the team also visited a community housing project at Majhi Gaun near Melamchi village of Sindhupalchok district. The community housing project is aimed to provide shelter to the under privileged ethnic Majhi people who lost their houses during the 2015 earthquakes. Once this community village project is completed, the poor Majhi people will have a proper place to stay under since the earthquake left them homeless and helpless.

The visit was extremely helpful in giving an in depth information to the sponsors of our projects on where and how the fund that they kindly generated was being used. The firsthand experience of the projects after the inspection trip gave a real insight about the projects to our sponsors so that they could be sure that something meaningful to the world is taking place with their effort.
