Suryachaur Hiking - 2 Days

Trip Overview

Surya Chaur is a newly explored short-tour destination located on the periphery of the Kathmandu valley. This hiking program allows the trekker to have both the flavors of city and countryside culture, tradition, and the living style of the local inhabitants. During the hike, you will be walking through the dense jungle and the trail, including some gradual ascents and descents.

Itenerary

Day 01:Drive to Kakani and hike to Suryachaur: Driving duration: 1 hour. Hiking duration: 3 hours.

After having breakfast in your hotel, your drive to the hiking starting place; Kakani commences here. You will drive to Kakani through (Kathmandu-Trishuli highway) where you will be able to see the city lifestyle, village lifestyle, religious places, terraced farming and people engaging in agricultural activities in traditional way. Once you reach Kakani, you will commence walking through the kakani village in the beginning which then leads to some open hills and then through the dense forest. The walking includes some steep ascends and small descends at some places. From most of the enroute places and from the hiking destination; Surya Chaur, you will be able to see the breathtaking views of the mountains like Annapurna, Ganesh, Langtang, Gaurishanker and their wide ranges. Besides that you will also see the panoramic views of the surrounding areas which include some Tamang villages below the hill and their terraced farming. Once you reach Suryachaur, you will feel like you have reached to heaven and enjoy the nature. You will check-in to the basic lodge where you will stay overnight here. In the remaining time, you can stroll around the surroundings of the Suryachaur. Overnight in basic lodge. The accommodation for Suryachaur in this package is completely basic where you will be able to find the basic facilities. If you think you cannot be able to adjust in the basic facilities then we have another option to spend overnight in Shivapuri Forest Resort which is located nearby Suryachaur and it takes exactly one hour easy walk including some ups and downs from Suryachaur. If you want this Resort to spend tonight then you must pay extra US $ 50 per person.

Day 02:Hike to Dandagaon and drive back to Kathmandu: Walking duration: 3 hours. Driving duration: 1 hour.

After having breakfast in Suryachaur, you will commence walking down to Dandagaon which then leads you to Kathmandu. From Suryachaur, you will walk through the similar type of trail as of yesterday. You will see the mountain views along with the views of surroundings and from some parts of the trail; you will see the beautiful view of the Kathmandu valley. After continuously walking for 3 hours, you will reach Dandagaon. Dandagaon is a beautiful village which is located just above the famous religious place, Budhanilkantha which allows you to have the pristine view of the Kathmandu valley in the clear weather. Once you reach the village, you will have your Lunch here and explore the village for an hour. After exploring the village, you will commence driving to reach Kathmandu through the graveled road in the beginning. Within an hour, you will reach Kathmandu and check-in to the hotel. Overnight in Hotel.
