Nepal's government is preparing to raise Mount Everest climbing permit fees to $15,000 and implement new measures to improve safety and reduce environmental pollution on the iconic peak. The updated regulations, approved by the Cabinet on January 8, will be published in the Nepal Gazette and take effect from the autumn climbing season in September 2025, according to officials.
